The Polygon network has three main advantages:
- It operates faster than Ethereum. Transaction validation follows the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) principle.
- Lower transaction fees.
- Various types of chains, including standalone and sharded ones, can be created or transferred to Polygon.
There is another crucial task for which the Polygon sidechain was created: maintaining a high level of decentralisation. Polygon developers have successfully created a blockchain fork of Ethereum that eliminates its drawbacks while preserving its strengths.
Decentralisation remains intact, fees have decreased, and transaction speed has increased. Additionally, this sidechain is capable of processing up to a million transactions per second. The project’s growing popularity is confirmed by the numbers; in just two years, the value of Polygon has increased by over 500 times.
